Season Blocks

I guess I've been on a block binge lately. We are in the midst of building a house and after the framers got done, I ran around picking up all the scraps before they got thrown away.

I saw blocks similar to these on non other then (drum roll please).... Pinterest....! OF COURSE!!! I made one for the Spring and then it was summer, so I used the back for Summer. I had this great idea that you could make a set for every season with just a few blocks. I almost have it to where you only need 7 blocks. That means that you only have to stash 1 away at a time! Yay! I messed up so I have 8 blocks, 2 with a letter on only one side, but I'm sure there is a better way of arranging them to where you only need 7! I'll work on that!

** I'll update with how I made these blocks...  I should have thought about that!
They were simple to make and only took a few minutes to put together.
1. Blocks- I had left over blocks and didn't cut them, but you could get a 2x4 and make them certain sizes.
2. Painted my blocks. I used white!
3. After the paint dried (and my dog mauled them) I cut scrap book paper just a smidgen smaller then the block.
4. Stencils and marker in hand, I started making my letters. You can paint the letters (which I've tried and is more time consuming and messy) and do different colors! I choose black and a sharpie.
5. Mod Podge! Just simply paint on the glue on the block, stick the paper and paint it over the top.
6. Dry and Display!

So, here is the 4 seasons of the year!

Oh, and by the way... I cheated and my "W" is and upside down "M"! I think it works though! I'm loving these! Very fun!
